Life 101

Jeene ke liye socha hi nahin dard sambhalne honge.....muskuraye to muskurane ke karz utharne honge......

Are our lives fairy tales with happy endings...or are they just associated with the la la land where an unfortunate Cinderella's life changes to a remarkable fortune, sleeping beauty is awakened after decades by the kiss of the prince, knight on a white horse waiting for you. When would you call it to be a happy ending? When a person departs from this world after fulfilling his/her dreams, responsibilities, giving a better life to his/her family, leading a life by following the righteous path, or having a blessed hereafter. We come alone in to this world and leave alone, and of course we all need company in the form of friends, roomies and soulmate to accomplish this journey. Sometimes the company might bring you undoubted happiness and others an experience of lifetime....though good or bad....you got to learn the world more closely.

My philosophy of happy ending accounts with each task taken up throughout our lives. Having enthusiasm to start it, zeal to get it rite and end it successfully with dedication and hard work....isn't it a happy ending??? after all our life is a agglomeration of small events and happenings...

Destination Moon

Chandrayaan 1, India's maiden moon mission marked its history on October 22nd, 2008 yet another space achievement for India after its launch of first satellite in 1975. Only after ten years of hardwork and dedication of the scientists at ISRO (Indian Space and Research Organisation) this dream of unmanned mission to moon could be possible. Its a scientific breakthrough for India and for young Indians who now can look beyond IT. Rocket science, astrophysics and aim to become an astronaut will be the budding dream among the young air of India and who knows one of them could actually take off from our own land to moon in near future.

This moon exploration took me back to my engineering days, the field trip to the Ground Station Complex at Shadnagar, Andhra Pradesh which is a data receiving center for Indian and Foreign Remote Sensing Satellites. where I was amazed to see the huge antennas and their use in receiving the data. The internship hunt at NRSA, Hyderabad, where the data was evaluated and distributed to various parts of the world. The data collected is used to study earth's climatic changes, ocean currents, precipitation etc. But years after witnessing the ever changing climate, polluted environment, global warming etc., makes me think about the greed of mankind to go beyond. Browsing through the net I found an interesting website where lunar land was for sale ....ah huh..real estate on moon ...not a bad idea to exploit another celestial body for our own purpose. I would like to know how the lunar embassy works and the rules on which it gives visas to aliens like us. But not to forget that though with this moon mission we might have our flag on moon's landscape along with four other countries but will not be able to own the land as of now...

I guess that day is not too far...

In order to popularize myself with space science and Chandrayaan 1, I visited the ISRO's website for the first time. It was interesting to know about the milestones achieved and their future projects. It was a proud moment for me as an Indian. We today challenge the world leaders even in the field of space science and make them feel the need to strive hard in order to sustain their leadership.

P.S: Ain't any expert....just shared my view.

My first poem

In the loving memories of my Dad....I post my first poem.

Life is a journey as they say...
And how could mine start without you

You made my night and day
And how could the cold nights be warm without you

You were by my side come what may
And I wonder what would I be without you

You made every effort to fill my life with glee and gay
And I wonder what would they mean to me without you

You were there to show me every right way
And I wonder without you I might have been left astray

You were, are and will be in my life like the suns ray
Thank you Mom and Dad

My Valley - Hyderabad

My city which is very well known as city of Nizam's, city of Pearls, city of Lakes, hub for Information Technology (IT). Hyderabad experienced a remarkable augmentation in almost all sectors since the last decade of 20th century, this change was mainly due to the IT boom and liberalization of Indian economy. Since then the city never looked back. With life moving as fast as the MMTS and changing lifestyle, one forgot the good olden days where during summer kids got to play in the ponds, the Sunday morning fish market at the lakes, evening walks at the bunds, and hide n seek in the trees..... Is my city loosing its charm?

As the city has grown rapidly over the years, the quality of environment is declining day by day. The city is now turning in to a concrete jungle with worst climatic changes, increasing air pollution, severe drinking water problems and depleting watersheds. The city which was once home for numerous lakes is now pledging workshops for clean and safe drinking water. Urbanization, is for sure important for the growth of a city, but what is the situation of a clean green city when urbanization and industrialization shows its negative impact.

The Govt. and Non- Govt. agencies are surely working towards a better Hyderabad by adopting the Water Act, Air Act and timely monitoring the polluting industries. But the laws are not stringent enough to stop the industries from shutting down during inspection. The number of wastewater treatment plants have increased in last 5 yrs, but their efficient working is a question of concern. A small number of Hyderbadis on the other hand are working towards the cause by adopting the rain water harvesting system, but is it helping to improve the groundwater level? Though, 50% of the population opts to travel by public transport, is this helping in reduction of air pollution.

Culture and heritage is what makes India stand apart in the world map and it is environment which keeps it alive. When hyderabadis all over the world return to their home searching for their souls they find the soul of Hyderabad missing and its skeleton is also getting damaged. My city is shedding its pieces in order to mould itself and fit in the new generation.

But I believe the essence of my valley is always alive with its age old monuments, hospitality, umpteen chai's, autowala making bucks by giving a good ride of city even when your destination is next lane, splash of pan in new building complexes, narrow escape bike rides and the laid back attitude which reflects in hyderabadi one-liners.

And many more....
